Assessments

Record the assessment where the plan gets written.

ABACare records raw scores and totals, stores the standard scores a clinician enters, and does not calculate licensed scoring. A finalized assessment can feed a treatment plan draft.

Three ways an instrument is handled.

Each instrument is either recorded as a raw score or stored from clinician entry. The table says which.

Instruments in ABACare today
InstrumentIn ABACareWhat that means
ABAS-3Clinician-enteredYour clinician enters the composite score; ABACare stores it.
AFLSRecordedABACare records the raw score.
PEAKRecordedABACare records the raw score.
FASTRecordedABACare records the raw total. The scoring key is not loaded, and no norms are invented.
QABFRecordedABACare records the raw totals. No norms are invented.
Vineland-3Clinician-enteredA clinician enters the standard scores from the published instrument, and ABACare stores them.
VB-MAPPRecordedA clinician records the results. ABACare does not score them or hold the item bank.
ABLLS-RRecordedA clinician records the results. ABACare does not score them or hold the item bank.

FAST and QABF carry no invented norms.

The scorers for FAST and QABF report what the responses show. They do not add a norm that the instrument does not supply.

From a finalized assessment to a plan draft.

When a clinician finalizes an assessment, its scores can start a treatment plan draft. The BCBA still edits the draft, completes the AI attestation and approves the plan.

A worked example, one assessment through to a draft.

An example with invented figures, to show how the steps connect. It is not a customer result and not a prediction for your clinic.

  1. Create

A BCBA creates an assessment for an invented client and chooses the instrument.

  2. Record

The clinician records the assessment data. For Vineland-3, that means entering the standard scores.

  3. Finalize

The BCBA finalizes the assessment, so the scores are the version the plan will use.

  4. Use

A treatment plan draft can start from the finalized scores. The BCBA edits and approves it.

What ABACare does today, and what it does not.

  • Does: score ABAS-3, AFLS, PEAK, FAST and QABF.
  • Does: store the standard scores a clinician enters for Vineland-3.
  • Does: record VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R results.
  • Does not: score VB-MAPP or ABLLS-R, or hold their item banks or curriculum.
  • Does not: import assessment files or prior plans from another system.

Questions about assessments.

Which instruments does ABACare score?
ABAS-3, AFLS, PEAK, FAST and QABF.
Does ABACare score the VB-MAPP or the ABLLS-R?
No. A clinician can record their results. ABACare does not score them or hold their item banks.
What happens with a Vineland-3?
A clinician enters the standard scores from the published instrument. ABACare stores them with the assessment.
Can an assessment start a treatment plan?
A finalized assessment can start a treatment plan draft. A BCBA edits and approves the plan.
Can I try this without real client data?
Yes. The live demo is a fictional clinic: no password and no PHI. Start free opens a sandbox on synthetic data. Self-serve real client data requires a signed BAA and verified active Type-2 organization NPI; production use also follows a separate readiness approval.
